Modern Woodworking: Crafting a Tambour Breadbox // DIY Woodworking
Share
In this build, we’re tackling a classic project with a highly functional upgrade: a custom tambour breadbox. I designed this piece not just to look great on the counter, but to solve the mess of cutting bread with a built-in, slatted crumb tray. Crafted from beautiful White Oak and finished in a gorgeous "Smoke" color, this project was a fun technical challenge. I’ll walk you through the entire construction process— I also show my method for backing the tambour slats with canvas to ensure the door is flexible and durable. So go grab your tools and let's start this WoodStory.
